Este o aplicatie pentru telefoanele mobil sau tabletele care ruleaza sistemul de operare Android. Ajuta la topografierea (cartarea) pesterilor fiind folosita in tandem cu un instrument DistoX. "DistoX" aici e referit generic orice lasermetrul comercial model Leica Disto (e7, a2 etc.) modificat pentru topografierea pesterilor (inlocuite placa de baza, bateria si alte componente rezultand un sistem artizanal). DistoX-ul rezultat poate face, printr-o singura apasare pe butonul de masurare, toate cele 3 masuratori ale unei vize sau radieri (distanta, azimut si inclinatie). Telefonul se conecteaza la aparatul DistoX prin Bluetooth, apoi aplicatia TopoDroid instalata pe telefon poate prelua masuratorile topografice de la DistoX pe masura ce se topografiaza pestera. Aplicatia TopoDroid poate afisa scheletul drumuirii pe telefon. Optional, se poate desena crochiul (schita pesterii) pe telefon. Ulterior fisierele rezultate se copiaza pe calculator si apoi pot fi prelucrate cu diverse aplicatii de cartare (Therion, Compass, Walls, VisualTopo, Survex etc.) pentru a face hartile finale, modele 3D digitale sau alte produse.

Topodroid poate fi instalat prin aplicatia Google Play (sau "Magazin Play"). Este sigura, nu pune in pericol telefonul si nu contine reclame. Se deschide TopoDroid si apare o fereastra prin care aplicatia intreaba daca primeste permisiunea de a activa conexiunea Bluetooth (la fiecare deschidere daca Bluetooth nu este activat), la care trebuie raspuns "Da".
